Women Driving the Future of Transportation Through Policy, Advocacy & Innovation

OVERVIEW

The Women in Transportation Summit (WITS) brings together leaders from across the transportation industry for a morning of meaningful conversation, connection, and insight.

This is not just another panel.

WITS is designed to create space for real dialogue, where policy meets execution, where innovation meets reality, and where leaders across the public and private sectors come together to share perspectives on what’s shaping the future of transportation in our region.

But just as important, we’re creating space for the conversations that don’t always happen in formal settings.

The real stories. The career pivots. The lessons learned. The moments behind the titles.

WHAT TO EXPECT
  • High-level conversation with leaders shaping transportation policy and delivery
  • Candid discussion on real challenges and real experiences
  • Cross-sector perspectives from public agencies, private firms, and partners
  • Personal insights on leadership journeys, career growth, and navigating the industry
  • Opportunities to connect in a more relaxed, approachable setting

PROGRAM FORMAT

This is a moderated, discussion-driven session, not a series of presentations.

The conversation will move between:

  • Big-picture industry topics
  • Real-time challenges and decisions
  • Personal experiences and leadership journeys

KEY DISCUSSION TOPICS
🔹 Policy → Implementation

How transportation policy decisions are shaping real-world project delivery, funding, and priorities.

🔹 Advocacy & Influence

The role of leadership in driving change, and how industry voices can effectively engage.

🔹 Innovation in Practice

Where innovation is actually happening, and what it takes to move ideas into execution.

🔹 Leadership & Career Journeys

The paths behind the titles, career pivots, defining moments, and lessons learned along the way.

🔹 Navigating the Industry

Balancing competing priorities, building confidence, and growing within a complex and evolving field.

🔹 The Human Side of Leadership

What doesn’t always make it into formal conversations, mentorship, challenges, growth, and even a few lighter moments that shape the journey.

WHAT MAKES WITS DIFFERENT

This isn’t just about what leaders do, it’s about how they got there.

Expect a conversation that is:

  • Insightful
  • Honest
  • Relatable
  • And at times, a little lighter

Because the best conversations and the strongest connections happen when we move beyond titles and into real experiences.
