Temporary Traffic Control Traffic Manager (TTCTM) Course

This one-day eight hour course provides Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) training to Traffic Managers (TM) required on projects on the State highway system. This course is designed for field supervisors and crew leaders. The course includes fundamentals of Temporary Traffic Control (TTC), SHA’s TTC related standards and specifications, TTC typical applications, etc. Passing grade is 70%. As per the SHA specifications, the TM must be successfully completed every four (4) years. This course is provided by SHA in collaboration with Maryland Transportation Builders and Materials Association (MTBMA).

Notable Information

  1. Class instruction begins at 8:00 am.
  2. YOU MUST HAVE A VALID PICTURE ID (i.e. DRIVERS LICENSE) TO ENTER THE BUILDING. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.
  3. Classes are limited to 40 people per class. Registration is done on a first come – first serve basis – NO EXCEPTIONS.
  4. Course Cost $80.00 per person. Payment is due at the time of registration. There will be no cancellations or refunds.

Class Location

Most classes are held at the SHA Office of Traffic and Safety, located at 7491 Connelley Drive, Hanover, MD 21076.  Please verify address location on your registration confirmation receipt.

Traffic Control Class Results

Class Lists are posted as soon as the exams are graded and certifications are mailed out. To receive a passing grade, you must score at least 70% on the exam. Certification cards are mailed to the Company that registered each attendee.

Fall Golf and Clay Shoot

Register now for the Fall Invitational Golf Outing and Sporting Clay Shoot scheduled for September 23, 2010.

The Golf Outing will be held at Queenstown Harbor Golf Links, 310 Links Lane, Queenstown, MD. The Sporting Clay Shoot will be held at Schrader’s Bridgetown Manor, 16090 Oakland Road, Henderson, MD but will join the golfers for dinner at Queenstown.

In less than two weeks elected officials will return to Washington. It is vital that you and your employees communicate with them the need for a transportation bill.

Please contact your Senators and Representatives and urge them to make passing a long-term reauthorization bill a priority for 2010.

Voter Information

Please mark your calendars. The Primary election will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2010. A list of Polling place locations are available from the Board of Elections.

Those Registered Voters who wish to vote by Absentee Ballot may do so by mailing an Absentee Ballot Application to the address on the form. Absentee Ballots must be received no later than September 7, 2010.

MdQI Award Nominations
